Lahti residents use an average of

120 litres

of water in a day.

Distribution in the water supply network

The length of the water supply network in our area of operations is approximately 1,200 kilometres. About 70 control and monitoring stations are also needed to provide information on water consumption in different parts of the city.

Due to the hilly terrain in the Lahti region, water has to be pumped in the network. This ensures sufficient pressure in the network.

Monitoring the condition of the water supply network is a demanding job because the network is invisible underground. It saves energy and water when leaks are repaired without delay.
